If there are any Steppenwolf fans who don't know Steve Cropper we can start off by reminding everyone that he co-wrote "Sookie Sookie" with Don Covay in the early 'Wolf days. Additionally, his songwriting credits include the likes of "Dock Of The Bay", "Hold On, I'm Comin'", "Knock On Wood", and dozens more. He continues to tour with "Booker T & The MGs" with whom he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. More recently, it's his appearance and work with Dan Ackroyd and John Goodman in the "Blues Brother's 2000" movie that is taking center stage. We are delighted to add Steve's unique playing style and talent to the project, below are 3 pictures of Steve recording the solo and rhythm guitar overdubs on "Ain't That A Shame". Visit Steve's website, and leave a little email telling him you're a Wolf fan looking forward to hearing his performance on John's new CD.
