October 14th 1999: First Amendment Rocks Memphis
A panel with Legendary producer Sam Phillips, John Kay, 'The Falcons' Sir Mack Rice, and songwriter Jill Sobule meets at the Associated Press Managing Editors convention and discusses the harms of music censorship. July 16th 1999: John performs a solo set at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. He, along with several other artists, spend the evening singing songs revealing the capricious nature of censorship. Check out the full story here.


June 8th 1999: The executive director of the First Amendment Center announces that John Kay has been named to the national advisory board for The Freedom Forum First Amendment Center.
